Edith A. Aguayo, M.D.
Dr. Aguayo received her undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi and then earned her medical degree from East Tennessee State University. She completed her internship and residency at Keesler Medical Center/Air Force Base. Dr. Aguayo served twelve years in the United States Air Force, stationed at F. E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, and Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. While at Elmendorf Air Force Base she served as Medical Director for Women’s Health Services. At Eglin Air Force Base, she served as both Medical Director and Flight Commander for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is currently the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Crestwood Medical Center.
Rachel Petersen, M.D.
Dr. Rachel Rockman Peterson completed her undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the Chancellor’s scholarship. She then attended LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans on the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and was awarded membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. After medical school Dr. Petersen went on to serve her country in the United States Air Force where she completed her residency training at Keesler Air Forced Base and served for eight years on active duty. She was most recently stationed at Eglin Air Force base in Florida when she fulfilled her commitment to the Air Force. During her time at Eglin she was one of the most productive OBGYN physicians in the Air Force serving on the Tumor Board, Ethics Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Cancer Committees, Surgical Squadron and Morbidity and Mortality Committees, and was faculty Teacher of the Year for the family practice residency. Dr. Petersen’s military accomplishments include field grade officer of the quarter in 2006 and she received the Meritorious Service Award.
Dr. Petersen is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of OBGYN. She takes a special interest in high risk obstetrics and pediatric/adolescent gynecology. She is actively licensed to practice medicine in Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida and is a member in good standing of the American Medical Association. Dr. Petersen has full credentials to practice OB/GYN at both Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center.
